What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Liridon Fici- Doni, and Farida Raja conducted an unannounced case management inspection following a request to increase the facility's capacity from 24 to 48 preschool children ages 2 to 5 years. LPAs met with ELIZABETH HUCKABY - Director and informed her purpose of inspection. The Preschool Program currently serves children ages 2 \342\200\223 5 years in preschool main room, operating in a functioning church. The facility does not operate any other license on the same premise. The facility received a fire safety inspection approval from Morgan Hill Fire Department on 03/27/25 . The childcare center will operate Monday through Friday 8:30AM to 11:00AM, and Monday though Thursday from 11:15AM to 2:15PM. LPAs toured and measured the indoor and outdoor areas of the facility during today's inspection. Facility currently has no approved waivers for the preschool. L PA observed no bodies of water. Preschool Classroom measurements are : The Indoor total measurements contain a total of { 1732.48} square feet, which will accommodate Applicant's request for 48 preschool children. Preschool Outdoor Play measurements are : Outdoor total measurements contain a total of {4714.59} square feet, which will accommodate Applicant\342\200\231s request for 48 preschool children. Page 1 of 3 LPAs observed classrooms are clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair. All outdoor and indoor passageways and other areas of potential hazard were free of obstruction. Director was reminded that a comfortable temperature for children shall be maintained at a minimum of 68 Degrees F to 85 Degrees F at all times. Furniture and equipment were observed to be maintained in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. All play equipment and materials used by children were observed to be age appropriate. There are 43 chairs, 9 tables, 0 cubbies, 0 mats, 3 toilets, 1 urinal, and 7 sinks available for preschool children. Licensee stated children do not take naps at the center and children only have hooks to hang their items. There is a separate staff bathroom not utilized by the children which an isolated child can use if needed. Licensee will purchase additional children's equipment as needed. Director stated, if children need medication, the medication will be held in the Directors office. Isolation area is located in the directors office where children will be placed in case a child is sick and waits for their parent to pick them up. LPAs observed that the teacher/child ratio was in-compliance during today's visit. Lunch and snacks will be provided by parents. LPAs observed a fridge, and a microwave inside the directors office for staff use. Drinking water is available in the classrooms through commercial water dispensers. LPAs observed that the preschool playgrounds are surrounded by appropriate fencing. The preschool playgrounds have climbing structures with sufficient resilient materials (tanbark and sand). LPAs observed shady area provided by trees and canopies. Children have access to 5 picnic play tables located in the playground area. There is adequate age-appropriate supplies and toys outdoors. Playground climbing equipment does not have a age range sticker on the playground. Facility representative was reminded that per regulations all play equipment and materials used by children shall be age-appropriate. Based on today's inspection, LPAs determined that the facility's physical plant is in compliance with applicable Health & Safety Codes and Title 22 Regulations. Page 2 of 3. LPAs advised that a revised license indicating the approved preschool classrooms and outdoor play space waiver requirements will be issued pending manager review and the submission of the following corrections: -Updated Application for a Child Care Center (LIC200A) with adjusted capacity request for 48 preschool-age children. As a result of today\342\200\231s inspection, no deficiencies were cited. A NOTICE OF SITE VISIT WAS GIVEN AND MUST REMAIN POSTED FOR 30 DAYS . Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Director, ELIZABETH HUCKABY.
