What the inspector wrote

A Case Management Inspection was conducted on this date 6/14/2023 by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Melanie Otsuji. LPA met with Director, Tania Trejo. An application was submitted for an Addition of a Room and Capacity Increase . The center has requested to add room Toddler 2 (previously known as Kinder Room) as licensed space and increase capacity from 27 infant aged children to 47 infant aged children. The program is currently utilizing two classrooms on campus (Infant & Toddler 1). Also on site is a Preschool Component (#430709779) operating out of 4 classrooms. Operating Monday through Friday from 6:30AM - 6:00PM . Present today was the Director, 13 additional staff members and 21 napping infant aged child. A health and safety inspection was conducted inside and outside. Measurements were taken and are as follows: INDOORS: 1822.23 square feet = 52 children OUTDOORS: 1631.84 square feet = 22 children There are a total of 6 sinks available for children use. Facility utilizes the infant/toddler play yard. Yard waiver is to be requested. Facility understands no more than 22 children may be on the infant/toddler yard at any time. Drinking water is available inside and outside by way of water dispensers and bottles brought from home. Facility provides lunch and AM/PM snacks. Menus are posted. Facility has a functioning carbon monoxide detector, smoke detector and fire extinguisher accessible throughout the facility. Facility utilizes an electronic sign in/out application which provides a unique identifier for each authorized representative. A paper copy is available should the application not work. An approved Fire Clearance was received on 5/26/2023 from Milpitas Fire Department for 47 infant aged children. All licensing required documents are posted. Per Director, all Opening and Closing staff have current Pediatric CPR/First Aid. This facility plans to provide Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. An updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department when any changes are made. The following information regarding ADA was provided: US Department of Justice (USDOJ) toll-free ADA Information Line at (800) 514-0301 (voice)/ (800) 514-0383 (TTY) and link to publication: Commonly Asked Questions about Child Care Centers and the ADA, available at: http://www.ada.gov/childqanda.htm. Mandated reporter and appeal rights, unusual incident reporting and fingerprint requirements were discussed today. Director is also being informed of the web address ( www.ccld.ca.gov ) for downloading child care forms, and the director is encouraged to email ChildCareAdvocatesprogram@dss.ca.gov to be included in the Child Care Quarterly Updates distribution list. The director is also reminded that mandated reporter training is required for all staff and is to be renewed every 2 years at www.mandatedreporterca.com . Zero Tolerance policies were explained. The center was found to be clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair. There are no deficiencies cited during today's visit. A license with approval for 47 infant aged children operating out of 3 classrooms (Infant, Toddler 1 and Toddler 2) will be issued effective today, 6/14/2023. An exit interview was conducted with Director, Tania Trejo.
