Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jennifer "Jen" Beehler conducted an unannounced Case Management - Licensee Initiated inspection. Upon arrival LPA was greeted by the Assistant Director (AD) Michelle Noke and provided access to the facility. Director Cynthia Fehrenbach arrived a few minutes later. LPA stated the reason for the visit. LPA observed the facility. 28 children were in care with 8 staff members present. This meets Title 22 ratio and capacity requirements. All staff present had Criminal Background Clearance and were associated to the Guardian roster. LPA conducted interviews with the Directors to discuss the program capacity and answer any questions they may have. Directors had the following questions: 1. How should they address potential Transitional Kindergarten (TK) students that are 4 years old using the playground equipment designed for 5-12 year olds? 2. A new water faucet is being installed where a previous water faucet had been tested and passed 11/2022. Does this water fountain need to be re-tested after installation? LPA reached out to Licensing Program Manager (LPM) on Duty for today to ask the questions. LPM Belinda Devall stated additional research would need to be completed before we could answer the questions. LPA will follow up with the Directors when the Agency has made their determination. Continued on Page 2 LPA observed the facility has met all the requirements to include TK in the ages of children served on the license. LPA will update the license and send a new copy to the facility when it has been issued. Due to today's inspection, no deficiencies are cited. Exit interview conducted with Director Cynthia Fehrenbach. Report was reviewed and provided along with appeal rights. NOTICE OF SITE VISIT PROVIDED AND MUST REMAIN POSTED FOR 30 DAYS.
