What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Marilou Monico conducted an unannounced Case Management - Annual Continuation inspection to review files. LPA met with Site Director, Brittany Strange, and Administrative Staff, Madison Gates, and explained the purpose of today's inspection. LPA reviewed 10 children's files and 19 staff's files. LPA completed nine Evaluation of Teacher Qualifications. Per records review, Staff #3, #5, #7, #10, #12, #13, and #15 have expired Mandated Reporter Training (AB 1207). As a result of this inspection, deficiency was cited on the following page: NOTICE OF SITE VISIT WAS ISSUED AND MUST REMAIN POSTED FOR 30 DAYS.

    ARTICLE 2. Administration of Child Day Care Licensing

    On or before March 30, 2018, a person who, on January 1, 2018, is a licensed child care provider, administrator, or employee of a licensed child day care facility shall complete the mandated reporter training provided pursuant to paragraphs (2) and (3) of subdivision (a), and shall complete renewal mandated reporter training every two years following the date on which he or she completed the initial mandated reporter training. This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Per records review, Staff #3, #5, #7, #10, #12, #13, and #15 have expired Mandated Reporter Training (AB 1207).This poses a potential risk to the health and safety of children in care.
