What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Samantha Yip conducted an unannounced Required- 1 Year inspection. LPA met with Site Director Dariani "Dari" Salvador and explained the reason for the inspection. There were six (6) and at least two staff. Facility was within in ratio during today's inspection. There is an area to post required postings, such as parent's rights, license, and car seat law. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8AM to 11AM. LPA reviewed the electronic sign in. LPA discussed with Director about ensuring that parents are saving signatures when they sign in. LPA toured the inside and outside of the center with Director. Disinfectant, cleaning supplies, and other items that could pose a risk to children in care were observed to be inaccessible to children. Toys and equipment were age appropriate. Floors were clean and free of tripping hazard. Bathroom were observed to be functioning and clean. LPA observed that one of the door of the bathroom is starting to drag on the door causing it to get stuck. It is now causing an indent on the floor. Director placed a work order during today's inspection to have the door fixed. There is a fully charged fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector. The last fire/disaster drill was conducted on 04/17/2023. Director stated that there are no weapons, such as firearms, stored on the premise. The outdoor area is fenced. Area around play structure have resilient material. Shaded rest area is provided through canopy, umbrella, and tree. There were no bodies of water observed during today's inspection. ---------------------continues on 809 dated 05/18/2023 page 2---------------------- ---------------------continuation of 809 dated 05/18/2023 page 1------------------ Facility only provides snacks to children. Menu was observed to be posted. There is a kitchen to prepare and store food. Drinking water inside and outside is provided through water pitcher and cups. There are trash cans with tight fitted lids. There currently no children who required Incidental Medical Services (IMS). For IMS information, see PIN 22-02-CCP . Three (3) children files were reviewed. The records reviewed include but not limited to admission agreement and consent for emergency medical treatment. Two (2) staff files were reviewed during today's inspection. The records reviewed include but not limited to education credit and health screening. Director has a valid CPR/1st Aid, which expires on 02/09/2025. S-1 completed her CPR/1st Aid training online. LPA discussed with Director that online CPR/1st Aid training are not accepted. Director will submit proof that S-1 is enrolled in an in-person CPR/1st Aid training. All staff present have cleared fingerprints. Site Supervisor was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Facility will submit the following: - proof that bathroom door is fixed - Proof of enrollment for in-person CPR/1st Aid training for S-1 As a result of this inspection, no deficiencies were issued. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Site Director Dariani Salvador. A notice of site visit has been issued and must remain posted for 30 days.
