What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Samantha Yip conducted an unannounced Required- 1 Year inspection. LPA met with Rebecca Camario, staff, and explained the reason for the inspection. Site Supervisor Juliza Ponce arrived shortly after. Upon arrival, there were no children present. There were 12 children present during today's inspection. Facility was within ratio during today's inspection. Facility is located on the El Toro Elementary School campus. There is a board to post required postings, such as license, parent's rights, and car seat law. There is a working phone at the facility. Facility uses electronic sign in/sign out. LPA reviewed electronic sign in/sign out. LPA toured the inside and outside of the facility. All disinfectant, cleaning supplies, and other items that could pose a risk to children were observed to be inaccessible to children. Facility is currently only using Room 2. There are toys for children. Bathroom for children provide individual privacy. There is a fully charged fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector. The last disaster drill was conducted on 07/29/2022. Facility only uses the grass and blacktop area. Area is fenced. Shaded rest area is provided through trees. Drinking water outside is provided through water fountain. There were no bodies of water observed during today's inspection. Facility provides snacks for the children. Menu was observed to be posted. Kitchen was observed to be clean. Drinking water is provided through water cooler and cups. Trash can for waste have tight fitted lids. ------------------continues on 809 dated 09/20/2022 page 2----------------------- - ----------------continuation of 809 dated 09/20/2022 page 1---------------------- Facility does provide Incidental Medical Services (IMS). LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. For IMS information, see PIN 22-02-CCP . A Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. A copy of the facility roster was obtained. Six (6) children's files were reviewed during today's inspection. The records reviewed include but not limited to admission agreement and consent for emergency medical treatment. Three (3) staff files were reviewed during today's inspection. The records reviewed include but not limited to health screening and education credit. There is a least one staff with a valid CPR/1st Aid, which expires on 01/29/2024. All staff completed Mandated Reporter training. LPA reminded Site Director about updating proof to influenza or decline of influenza for staff. All adults present have cleared fingerprints. Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. As a result of this inspection, no deficiencies were issued. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Site Director Juliza Ponce. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
