What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Samantha Yip conducted an unannounced Required- 1 Year inspection. LPA met with Site Director Juliza Ponce and explained the reason for the inspection. Present during today's inspection were seven children and at least 3 staff. License, notification of parent's right, personal right's, and car seat law were posted. The hours of operation Monday through Friday 8AM to 11AM. There is working phone at the center. Facility uses electronic sign in/sign out. LPA reviewed sign in/sign out. LPA toured the inside and outside. All disinfectant, cleaning supplies, and other items that could pose a risk to children were inaccessible to children. There are toys and equipment, which are age appropriate. Floors were free of tripping hazard. There is a fully fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector. The last disaster drill was conducted on 10/24/2022. Site Supervisor stated that there are no weapons, such as firearms, stored on the premises. The outside area is fenced. Area around the play structure has resilient material. Equipment were observed to be age appropriate. There were no bodies of water observed during today's inspection. Facility provides snacks to children. There is a fridge to store food. Menu was observed to be posted. Drinking water is provided through water coolers and cups. ---------------------continues on 809 dated 10/26/2022 page 2--------------------- ------------------continuation of 809 dated 10/26/2022 page 1-------------------- Facility does provide Incidental Medical Services (IMS). LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. For IMS information, see PIN 22-02-CCP . A Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. The records reviewed include but not limited to admission agreement and physician's report. LPA observed that C-1 did not have screening for TB risk factor checked off. 3 staff files were reviewed during today's inspection. The records reviewed include but not limited to education credit or permits and Mandated Reporter training. LPA discussed with Site Director about ensuring that facility name is correct. All staff have a valid CPR/1st Aid. Site Director's CPR/1st Aid expires on 01/29/2024. All adults present have cleared fingerprints. Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. No deficiencies were cited as a result of this inspection. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Site Director Juliza Ponce. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
