What the inspector wrote

Pp 1 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Stephanie Collins conducted a site inspection of the facility today and met with Director Heather Mylene Ignacio . LPA explained the purpose of the visit and inspected the facility inside and out. The inspection is in response to facility\342\200\231s request for an increase in the Preschool License and to a Toddler Component designating Room "J" as the Toddler Room, changing the License capacity from 166 to 180 children (156 preschooler and 24 Toddlers) . A fire clearance has been granted on 1/05/22 for the Preschool to have a capacity of 180 preschool children. LPA observed the facility was compliance teacher ratios. LPA observed COVID-19 Postings throughout the facility. The facility did not construct additional space or make any structural changes to the physical plant to accommodate for the increase in capacity. However, per measurement taken of the indoor activity space during the Department's inspection on 10/16/2019, facility has a total indoor activity space for 182 Preschool children. Also, facility has an adequate number of toilets, sinks and supplies for Preschool Children with a separate restroom 2 sinks and three toilets inside the toddler room to accommodate 24 Toddlers. Facility currently holds a playground waives to ensure No commingling between preschoolers and toddlers or infants programs. The following indoor measurements were taken today by LPA Rangel and Mac 10/16/2019 A1: 34.333 x 29.917 minus 30.624 (encumbered space) = 996.516 square feet A2: 34.750 x 18.667 + 10.500 x 7.667 + 28.667 x 14.833 minus 18.696 (encumbered space) = 1,135.703 square feet D: 34.500 x 27 minus 20.066 (encumbered space) = 911.434 I: 24.583 x 39.583 minus 34.703 (encumbered space) = 938.365 E: 30 x 22.583 minus 7.080 (encumbered space) = 670.410 F: 23.583 x 39.083 minus 100.73 (encumbered space) = 820.964 J- Toddler Classroom: : 24.167 x 39.583 minus 34.391 (encumbered space) = 922.211 Total for Indoor Space: 6,395.603 square feet divided by 35 = 182.732 (preschool children). Playground 1/Front Playground: total = 103.583 x 10.083 + 110.667 x 15.5667 + 6.500 x 23.667 + 54.750 x 74.750 + 45.333 x 40.833 minus 276.676 encumbered = 8,599.04 The following outdoor measurements were taken on 1/28/19 by LPA Rangel: Toddler Playground 2/Back Playground: total = 125.750 x 102 + 9.333 x 10.667 + 30.250 x 9.750 + 16 x 6.583 + 4.417 x 5 + 14.5 x 9.167 + 28.667 x 29.167 = 14,317.426 Total outdoor infant space: 8,599.04 + 14,317.426 square feet divided by 75 = (305 preschool children). Based on today's inspection, the physical plant meets the requirement for licensure with a capacity of 180 Preschool children. Pending Management final review and approval. Licensee Mylene Ignacio was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Safe Sleep LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with facility representative Mylene Ignacio and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep web page at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee [facility representative] of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Notice of Site Visit A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit Interview Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the facility representative Mylene Ignacio .
