Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kate Huang conducted an unannounced annual inspection and met with Licensee Lee, Li-Chin. LPA explained the purpose of today\342\200\231s inspection to the licensee. Present during the inspection were the licensee, one assistant- licensee's spouse, one infant, and seven preschool-aged children. The facility operates Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The adults residing in the home are the licensee, licensee's spouse, and licensee's two adult children. LPA toured both the indoor and outdoor areas of the home with the licensee. Required postings were observed near the entrance. LPA noted that there were sufficient materials, toys, and play equipment available for the daycare children. Furniture and equipment were age-appropriate, in good condition, and free of sharp edges, loose parts, or pointed objects. No disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons, or other hazardous items were accessible to children. The facility\342\200\231s outdoor area is enclosed with appropriate fencing. The home has central heating, cooling, and proper ventilation to ensure the comfort of the children. LPA reviewed the documents of the licensee and her assistant. Both individuals have current CPR certificates and TB test results on file. However, the licensee was unable to locate the MMR immunization records for herself and her assistant. LPA reviewed the files of six children in care and confirmed that all required documentation was present. Infant has 15 minutes sleeping log. Additionally, LPA observed a current roster of children and a fire and disaster drill log, which is completed at least once every six months. The most recent fire drill was conducted on 03/15/2025. LPA observed a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher and working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. The licensee confirmed that there are no weapons present in the home. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. The licensee stated that they are not currently providing medications to the children. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department.
