What the inspector wrote

On 5/9/24 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Sheena Chin, conducted an unannounced annual inspection of the center. LPA met with the owner, Nita Vaidya and explained the purpose of the visit. The Facility is licensed to serve age 2 years to entry into first grade. 6 years. Hours of operation for children in care: 8AM to 6PM Monday to Friday. The facility had three buildings. The main building had two classrooms. The other 2 buildings had one classroom respectively. LPA observed there was no restroom for the other two buildings. Ms. Vaidya stated that classrooms in the other two buildings were for preschool children from 9am to 12pm and pre K/kindergarten children from 2:30pm to 6pm. The facility has passed fire inspection on 4/17/24. Ms. Vaidya stated that she was the director. LPA advised Ms. Vaidya that the department\342\200\231s data did not show her name as the director. Ms. Vaidya stated that she sent the required documents to LPA Pietro Hernandez after the March 2023 annual inspection. LPA Chin advised Ms. Vaidya that the department\342\200\231s data did not show her name as the director and there were no documentations about her director application. Ms. Vaidya presented the email communications with LPA Pietro Hernandez that she had already sent the director package to LPA Pietro Hernandez on 4/27/23. On 8/9/23 the facility had passed water lead test result. LPA observed that the drinking water fountain in the hallway was not included in the test list. Ms. Vaidya stated that the contractor told her that the fountain did not need to be tested as long as the faucet was taped. LPA observed the faucet in the drinking water fountain was tapped. LPA advised Ms. Vaidya that the water source of the drinking water fountain needed to be retested or disabled completely. Ms. Vaidya stated that she would take out the drinking water fountain. Ms. Vaidya stated that the facility had not had any children since August 2023. Ms. Vaidya stated that she decided to renovate the bathroom as the facility didn\342\200\231t have children after 2 children left from the covid 19 entered into kindergarten. Ms. Vaidya stated that in February she hired contractor to fix the fence in the parking lot, which had fell down due to the weather and in March & April she hired other contractors to paint the entire property and change floors in the kitchen, one classroom, bathrooms Ms. Vaidya stated that she was actively recruiting children.
