What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) James Santos and Marilou Monico met with General Manager, Ludmila Parada, today and conducted a Case Management Inspection. The facility submitted an application for a change of capacity for their infant license from 10 to 8 infants, switching rooms from Room 2 to Infants Room (Previously Room 1). Fire clearance was approved on October 28, 2022. LPAs toured the facility and measured the indoor and outdoor areas during today's inspection. The following are the classroom measurements and information: Infants Room: 28.417 x 11.000 = 312.587 minus 26.986 (encumbered space) = 285.601 TOTAL INFANT INDOOR SPACE = 285.601 sq. ft. divided by 35 sq. ft. = 8 children The infant room has 1 sink and 1 diaper changing table within arm's reach of a sink. The sink only has cold running water. There are 10 chairs, 1 table, 4 cribs, 9 cots, 12 cubbies and 4 hooks available for the children. There is a staff bathroom next to the Preschool Children's Bathroom. The staff bathroom is clean, sanitary and operable. Sick children will be isolated in the office and isolation equipment will be provided. The facility has containers with tight-fitting lids for the disposal of solid waste. There is also a separate container with tight fitting cover for the disposable of diapers. The facility has fire extinguisher, fire alarm system, smoke/carbon monoxide detectors. Continuation on Page 2 The facility is providing snacks and lunch to the children. There is a kitchen at the facility for food preparation. The kitchen is equipped with refrigerators, oven, stove, dishwasher, and a sink with hot and cold running water. The following are outdoor measurements and information: Infant Playground: 45.250 x 15.917 = 720.244 TOTAL INFANT OUTDOOR SPACE: 720.244 sq. ft. divided by 75 sq. ft. = 9 children LPA observed the playground is fully fenced which meet the height requirements. Shade is provided by materials called "Solar Shade Sails" and a tree. No bodies of water observed. LPAs discussed the safe sleep regulations with Ludmila and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep web page at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPAs also informed Ludmila of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended she registers all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on her purchased equipment. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with General Manager, Ludmila Parada LPAs advised Ludmila that a license for 8 infants will be granted upon manager's review and approval. There were no deficiencies cited. A NOTICE OF SITE VISIT WAS GIVEN AND MUST REMAIN POSTED FOR 30 DAYS.
