What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Shine Yu and Licensing Program Manager (LPM), Gladys Kuizon conducted an unannounced Annual inspection today and met with licensee, Lidan Ou. LPA arrived the facility at 1:02pm, during nap time. Facility tour was conducted and records reviewed. There are 10 children, one is under 2 years old. There are 2 staff present. Each child has his/her own sleeping cot. A crib is available for the infant. LPA toured indoor and outdoor area. LPA observed a smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector and fire extinguisher. There is no body of water observed. The play area were fenced for children safety. There are age appropriate toy for children. Licensee stated there is one tenant (T1) who resides in the home. All adults in the home are finger printed. Facility conducted fire/disaster drill on 08/29/2024. Licensee was informed the fireplace waiver is rescinded and all fire places need to be screened or made inaccessible to children. Around 3:00pm, all children were awake and engaged in activities with staff. To improve the quality and value of the new inspection process, a survey may be sent to the email address provided. For additional information regarding the inspection and its tools and methods, please visit the Program website at www.cdss.ca.gov/info.esources/community-care-licensing/inspection-process . continued on LIC 809C Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Licensee stated no medication provided in the facility. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. During the exit interview, the Licensee, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA also checked Meganslaw.com on 09/17/2024 and created RSO profile on FAS. No deficiency cited for today's inspection. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed in Mandarin with the licensee Lidan Ou .
