What the inspector wrote

On 4/25/2023, Licensing Program Analyst (L PA) Briana Plumboy arr ived at the facility unannounced for the purposes of conducing a Required 1-Year Inspection. LPA was met by Director, Cyrus Mallare. Present for this inspection are the Director and 8 fingerprint cleared and associated staff members. Facility operating hours are 8:30am-11am and 12:30pm-6pm M-F. The facility was toured to conduct a health and safety inspection. At 11:52am, LPA toured the facility classrooms. Club J at the Oshman has 8 approved classrooms (E104, D120, D123, M121, M117, G100, G103 and Second Floor Pavilion) for School Aged children. Facility will also have 4 play yards (Outdoor Field Area, 2nd Floor Pavilion Patio, Gaga Pit and Preschool Play Yard) available for children. The rooms are clean with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. There are safe age-appropriate toys and learning materials available to children throughout the rooms. All hazardous materials and toxins including disinfectants and cleaning solutions were observed to be made inaccessible to children during today's inspection. Snack food is protected from contamination. Drinking water is available to children inside and outside the facility. Bathrooms are clean and in good repair during today's inspection. Toilets and sinks are operable during this inspection. The staff have a separate bathroom on the 4th floor of the theater. Director's office and bathroom nearest Director's office will serve as isolation areas for ill children. Menus are posted. There are no pools, spas or other bodies of water accessible to children in care during today's inspection. Playground equipment was observed to be in good repair and free of hazards during today's inspection. Food prep areas were kept clean, free of litter and rubbish during today's inspection. Storage containers for solid waste have tight-fitting covers that are kept on and in good repair. Fire/Evacuation Drill is documented and conducted at least once every six months with the last drill conducted on 2/10/23. See 809-C for continuance Director Cyrus Mallare was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum per/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Reminder that all forms can be downloaded at all forms can be downloaded at www.ccld.ca .gov. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. This facility provides IMS to children in care. Facility is following IMS plan on file. When any changes to the IMS plan is made, an updated Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department.
