Facility-requested visit·November 6, 2024

On November 6, 2024 at 8:37 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Marilou Monico, made an unannounced Case Management Inspection in response to licensee's request to reactivate her daycare license. LPA met with Licensee, Vijaya Devireddy. Also present in the home was licensee's husband. Licensee states the daycare days and hours of operation will be Monday - Friday from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Licensee has current CPR and First Aid certifications with an expiration date of May 4, 2026. Licensee's Mandated Reporter Training was completed on May 28, 2024. LPA reminded licensee that Mandated Reporter Training for Child Care Providers shall be renewed by all staff every two years from completion date. LPA reviewed with Licensee the LIC 311D, Forms/Records To Keep In Your Family Child Care Homes, children\342\200\231s forms/records, facility forms/records, and information to be posted. LPA inspected the indoor and outdoor areas of the home. LPA observed a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher, functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and glass covered fireplace. Off limit areas inside the home: entire upstairs, Bedroom 4, and garage. Off limit areas outside the home: barricaded walkway. Cleaning products, sharp objects, and other similar items are stored inaccessible to children. LPA observed sufficient toys, supplies, and equipment for the day care children. Licensee states that there are no weapons or firearms in the home. There were no bodies of water observed. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA provided and discussed the safe sleep regulations with Licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also reminded Licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. LPA obtained a copy of updated facility sketch during the inspection. As a result of this inspection, the license for Large Family Child Care Home is reactivated effective today, November 6, 2024. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Licensee, Vijaya Devireddy. A NOTICE OF SITE VISIT WAS GIVEN AND MUST REMAIN POSTED FOR 30 DAYS.
