What the inspector wrote

On 03/11/2026, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Jennifer "Jen" Beehler, Janette Cruz and Harsimran Kaur conducted an unannounced Case Management/Other Inspection and met with Facility Representatives Jamie Ferguson, Brittany Strange and Cathy Jelic. The purpose of today's inspection was to verify the capacity increase issued on October 24, 2017 by obtaining updated measurements for indoor and outdoor spaces. Upon arrival, LPAs were greeted by the Director and provided access. LPAs provided the reason for the visit. There were 38 infants present and 13 staff which is compliant with the ratio and capacity requirements. LPAs toured and re-measured the on-limits areas, classrooms and outdoor spaces at the facility. The facility has a total of 2 classrooms. Infant Classrooms' measurements are: The Indoor total measurements contain a total of {1,719.10} square feet, which can accommodate 48 infants. Infant Outdoor measurements are: The Outdoor total measurements contain a total of {2,199.68} square feet, which will not accommodate 48 infants. There are 67 chairs, 9 tables, 130 cubbies, 41 hooks, 48 cots, 1 potty chair, 5 sinks, and 4 changing tables available for the infants. Director was advised that there shall be a minimum of one hand washing sink to every 15 infants and one potty chair to every 5 infants being toilet trained. LPAs notified facility representatives the following documents need to be updated and provided to the Department: LIC999 Facility Sketch with "innovation nook" included Waiver Request for shared outdoor activity space Check for $25.00 for capacity decrease Updated LIC200A reflecting capacity change and any updates such as Director's name Decrease of capacity shall apply upon the receipt of the above documents and the completion of the following: Written plan of use for "innovation space" Management approval of shared outdoor activity space Approved fire clearance reflecting updated activity space Final management approval LPAs reminded Facility Representatives per Title 22 regulations require an additional Assistant Director present when more than 25 infants are in attendance. This facility does not have a designated crib area and therefore, currently enrolls only infants between ages 12 -24 months. Facility Representatives were advised that a teacher must be present inside the "innovation room" whenever it is used by infants. No deficiencies are cited during today's inspection. Exit interview conducted with Facility Representative, Jamie Ferguson, report was reviewed and provided along with appeal rights. A NOTICE OF SITE VISIT WAS GIVEN AND MUST REMAIN POSTED FOR 30 DAYS.
