What the inspector wrote

On March 16, 2021 at 10:15AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Samantha Yip conducted an announced Case Management- Other inspection. Due to COVID-19 and shelter in place, a tele-inspection was conducted via Zoom. LPA met with Ms. Catherine Trabanino, Regional Manager, and explained the reason for the inspection. Ms. Trabanino was advised that this Facility Evaluation Report (LIC 809) dated 03/16/2021 will be emailed to the facility. Facility's reply to the email within 24 hours will serve as acknowledgement and the report was received. The purpose of this inspection was to provide technical assistance in response to a waiver request for 14 school age children to attend the facility. Facility is currently licensed to serve 2 years to entry to 1st grade in rooms: Movement Zone, Early Preschool 1 through 6, and Preschool 1 thru 4. Ms. Trabanino guided LPA on a tour of the facility via Zoom. The program plans to operate Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 6PM and will serve children ages 5 to 11.11 years old. A fire clearance for 14 school-age children was granted on 02/19/2021. Children will be dropped off/picked up at the side door. Facility plans on conducting daily health screening via side door when children arrive. If child/ren become ill during the course of the day, they will be placed in an isolation area located in the director's office. There is at least one staff on site with a valid CPR/1st Aid, which expires on 10/19/2021. ------------------CONTINUES ON 809 DATED 03/16/2021 PAGE 2------------------------------- -------------------CONTINUATION OF 809 DATED 03/16/2021 PAGE 1------------------------- The program plans to use the following classroom at this location: Movement Matters Zone. The classroom will have a maximum of 14 children. Outdoor activities are planned to take place at the preschool yard, which is enclosed with fencing. Ms. Trabanino understands that preschool and school-age children cannot commingle. The facility will be providing snacks to the children. Children will bring lunch from home or can purchase meals. The program will ensure that children have access to drinking water at all times. Medication will be administered if parents provide it. The program plans to utilize the following restroom which provide for individual privacy: the restroom next to the adult restroom; SA restroom (1 toilets, 1 urinal, and 1 sinks). Sanitizing stations are in place throughout the buildings Community Care Licensing will provide on-going Technical Assistance (TA) to Bright Horizons at Sunnyvale.
