What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Samantha Yip conducted an unannounced Required-1 Year inspection. LPA met with Director Annabelle Calasanz and explained the reason for the inspection. There were no school-age children present during today's inspection. There are areas to post required postings, such as license, waivers, notification of parent's rights, and car seat law. There is a working phone at the facility. LPA toured the inside and outside of the facility. LPA observed that there is a lock on the cabinet below the sink in School-Age 1 Room, but was not locked. LPA observed that there was a bottle of disinfectant spray under the sink. Director moved the bottle of disinfectant spray. There was also a cabinet, which was locked that had bottles of cleaning supplies. The key was still attached the cabinet. LPA discussed with Director about removing the key. All other disinfectant, cleaning supplies, and other items that could pose a risk to children were observed to be inaccessible to children. There are toys and equipment for children. Bathroom for children allow for individual privacy. There is an additional bathroom for children in the Village, which is currently not being used. LPA discussed with Assistant Director about ensuring that there is at least one toilet and sink for every 15 children enrolled. There is a fully charged fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector. The outdoor activity area is fenced. Shaded rest area is provided through canopy. There were no bodies of water observed during today's inspection. LPA discussed with Director about having staff check the outdoor space for any animal feces. -------------------continues on 809 dated 04/21/2023 page 2----------------------- ----------------continuation of 809 dated 04/21/2023 page 1--------------------- Snacks are provided for the children. Menu was observed to be posted. There is a kitchen to prepare and stored food. Drinking water is provided through Brita filter and cups or water fountain. Trash can for waste have tight-fitted lids. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS, but does not have any children who required IMS currently. For IMS information, see PIN 22-02-CCP. A copy of the facility roster was obtained on 04/04/2023. Five (5) children's files were reviewed during today's inspection. The records reviewed include but not limited to admission agreement. Four (4) staff files were reviewed during today's inspection. The records reviewed include but not limited to education credit, immunization records, and Mandated Reporter training. S-1 last completed the Mandated Reporter training on 04/2020. Director stated that S-1 will complete Mandated Reporter training and send proof to Licensing. There is at least one staff with a valid CPR/1st Aid. Assistant Director's CPR/1st Aid expires on 02/26/2024. All staff who work in the school-age program have cleared fingerprints. Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. As a result of this inspection, no deficiencies were issued. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Assistant Director Rocio Andrade. A notice of site visit has been issued and must remain posted for 30 days.
