What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Samantha Yip and Ashley Lopez conducted an announced pre-licensing inspection. LPA met with Applicant Kamal Gill and Michael and explained the reason for the inspection. Applicant Rohan Gill arrived shortly after. The purpose of this inspection is Applicants are applying for an infant license for a capacity of 16 children. Applicant is also applying for an preschool license at the same location. A fire clearance was granted on 03/07/2023. There is an area to post required postings, such as notification of parent's rights, personal rights, and car seat law. The measurements for the indoor and outside were conducted during today's inspection. The measurements are as followed: I NDOOR MEASUREMENT: Room 1: (22.667 x 21.333 = 483.555) minus encumbered space (7.167 x 1.8333 = 13.137) + (2.083 x 11.583 = 24.127) + (2 x 3 = 6) = 440.291 TOTAL INDOOR SPACE : 440.291 divided by 35 = 12 children OUTDOOR MEASUREMENT: (59.667 x 29 = 1730.343) minus encumbered space [2 (1.083 x 1.083)= 2.345] +( 3.917 x 10.750 = 42.107) + (3.917 x 10.667 = 41.782) + (4.417 x 4 = 17.668) + (5.917 x 9.333 = 55.223) = 1571.218 TOTAL OUTDOOR SPACE: 1571.218 divided by 75 = 20 children -------------------continues on 809 dated 03/13/2023 page 2--------------------- -------------continuation of 809 dated 03/13/2023 page 1--------------------- There are 16 cribs, 1 table, 6 chairs, and two high chairs. There is a changing table which is within arms reach of a sink. The sink only has cold water. Changing table has a mat that is washable. There are toys and equipment for children. There were no baby walkers on the premise. Cribs were feel of loose items. There is fridge to store food and bottles for infants. LPA reminded Applicant that all food and bottles brought from home need to be labeled with the child's name and date. The outdoor area is fenced. There are toys and equipment for infants. LPA discussed with Applicant to ensure that any water that collects is dumped out and that equipment are washed. Shaded rest area is provided through building overhang. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with applicant and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed applicant of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. This facility plans to provide Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. For IMS information, see PIN 22-02-CCP . A Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPA discussed with Applicant Rohan Gill regarding ensuring that all staff have cleared fingerprints and are associated to facility prior to them being present at the facility. Applicant was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) regularly sends information to licensed facilities, providers, and stakeholders by way of Provider Information Notices (PIN), Program Quarterly Update Newsletters and other important information communication platform. Applicant will submit the following: - updated LIC 200A to reflect the change to the capacity Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Applicant Rohan Gill. LPAs advised applicant upon approval of Licensing Management, a license for an infant license will be granted and issued to Applicant and upon completion of the following: - updated fire clearance
