What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Marilou Monico met with Site Director, Matt Linden, and conducted a Case Management Inspection in response to Licensee's request to add an outdoor playground space (Discovery Garden Yard) for the preschool program. LPA toured the facility both indoor and outdoor. LPA observed five (5) teachers and 39 children present. The following measurements were taken: Outdoor measurements taken today: Discovery Garden Yard : 49.00 x 35.67 = 1,747.83 29.00 x 20.83 = 604.07 Discovery Garden Yard Total = 2,351.9 (1,747.83 + 604.07) Outdoor measurements taken by LPA Monico and Gonzales on 09/11/25: Play Yard: 87.75 x 71.00 = 6,230.25 15.50 x 21.42 = 332.01 Play Yard total = 6,562.26 (6,230.25 + 332.01) minus 587.09 (encumbered space) = 5,975.17 Outdoor measurements taken by LPA Kaur on 12/19/23: Preschool Yard (outdoor space adjacent to Room 30/31) = 6114.99 TOTAL OUTDOOR SPACE = 14,442.06 (2,351.9 +5,975.17 + 6114.99) divided by 75 = 192 children Site Director stated that the children in the preschool program have the sole use of the Discovery Garden Yard. LPA observed that there are empty garden beds in some areas of the yard. Site Director indicated that the empty garden beds will be filled with plants and mulch. Continuation on next page: The following items to be sent to Licensing prior to using the Discovery Garden Yard for the preschool children: 1) Photos showing that the empty garden beds in the yard are completely filled with plants and mulch. 2) Photos showing additional shade and outdoor toys in the yard. As a result of this inspection, there were no deficiencies cited. Exit interview was conducted and the report was reviewed with Site Director, Matt Linden. A Notice of Site Visit was issued and must remain posted for 30 days.
