What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Marilou Monico conducted an unannounced Case Management- Lead Testing/Exceedance inspection. LPA met with Licensee Representative, Sara Spiegel, and Director of Facilities and Operations, Caroline Gupta and explained to them the purpose of today's visit. Based on the water sample result summary, Sink "T" with reported Action Level Exceedance of lead that is 5.5 parts per billion (ppb) or greater. LPA toured the facility. Present were eight (8) staff members and 35 children. LPA observed that Sink "T" is the drinking fountain in Room 28. The facility previously notified the Department that the drinking fountain in Room 1 and Room 28 will not be used until they are tested and cleared for lead. During the inspection, the custodian disconnected the water supply for the drinking fountain in Room 28. LPA observed that there is a sign "Out of Service Do not use until removed by sampler" on Sink "T". Caroline stated that she will schedule to have Sink "T" retested for lead as soon as the faucet is delivered on-site. Caroline stated that the children will not use the drinking fountain in Room 28 until it is cleared for lead. The following documents were submitted to analyst during today's inspection: 1) Facility Sketch (LIC999) 2) Water Sample Summary As a result of this inspection , there were no deficiencies cited. Exit interview was conducted and report was reviewed with Licensee Representative, Sara Spiegel. Copy of appeal rights was provided to Sara. A Notice of Site Visit was issued and must remain posted for 30 days.
