What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Anna Morales conducted an ANNUAL RANDOM inspection, and was met with Licensee. Licensee stated that she is the only adult that reside at the facility. LPA observed 8 preschool aged children present. Licensee was operating within her capacity and ratio requirements. LPA observed the required postings, including the facility license. Days and hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 8:30am- 5:30pm. LPA observed a current roster. Last disaster drill was conducted on 4/3/25. Licensee doesn't provide transportation to the children at this time. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA toured the indoor and outdoor areas of the home during today's visit. The Licensee has a working telephone in the home. This is a single-three bedroom home with no swimming pool. LPA observed in the main living room a covered fireplace. Children have access to the living room areas, Bedroom Number Three and First bathroom(Bathroom Number two) located in the hallway. Children will have access to the fenced backyard. Off limit areas inside and outside of the home: Bedroom Number 1 and 2, Bathroom Number 1, the kitchen and the garage. The home is clean, orderly, including heating and air conditioning, for safety & comfort. LPA observed combo smoke & carbon monoxide detectors, and fenced backyard, and a 2A10BC Fire Extinguisher. There is a climbing structured in the backyard with absorbent material underneath. Observed sufficient toys, play equipment, and materials for day care children. Licensee stated that she does not have any weapons/ammunition in the home. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Licensee stated that she does not provide child care services for infant aged children. LPA reviewed a random selection of children's file and observed that parent's rights forms, immunization records forms, consents for emergency medical treatment forms, and Identification forms are in each file. Licensee and two staff files were reviewed for the following records: Employee Rights (LIC9052), Statement Acknowledging Requirement to report Child Abuse (LIC9108), and Immunization Record showing immunity to measles (MMR), pertussis (Tdap), and influenza (or statement declining influenza). Licensee's Pediatric First Aid/CPR expires on 5/20/25. Mandated Reported Training expires on 4/3/26. LPA encouraged the Licensee to frequently visit our website at www.ccld.ca.gov for licensing regulations and new updates. The Licensee can also email at childcareadvocatesprogram@dss.ca.gov and ask to be added to the email list for the updates. LPA discussed the requirements of AB 633 with the Licensee and understands the AB 633 fact sheet/copy of Acknowledgement of Receipt of Licensing Reports (LIC 9224). LPA discussed "zero tolerance" related regulations and advised that the assessment of an immediate $500 per day civil penalty for any violation of a "zero tolerance" related regulation. An ongoing civil penalty of $100 per day continues until the violation(s) is corrected. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. During the exit interview, the Licensee confirmed Yong Kyo Cho there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS. Informed Licensee to submit any written Incident Reports to the following email address: SJincident@dss.ca.gov No citations were issued during today's inspection.
