Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Cortney Nelson, met with the Applicant, Jaime Allen, for follow-up visit to review the outside area of the facility. Upon arrival, LPA was admitted into the facility by Jaime and toured inside and outside. Jaime states that she is planning to operate the facility from 8:00AM-5:00PM and will now serve children ages 2 years through entry into first grade. LPA advised that children shall not be admitted once they begin attending public/private school as they would then be considered "school-age" children. LPA further advised that includes transitional kindergarten (TK) and kindergarten. An updated LIC200A was completed today. LPA advised Jaime of options relating to operation of her family child care home (FCCH) when the facility becomes licensed. LPA advised that as long as a qualified site director is employed and present at the facility, Jaime can continue to operate her FCCH. LPA further advised options of placing either the center or the FCCH on inactive status using the request form (LIC9211) if needed. Jaime states that she is planning to operate the center and her FCCH once licensed and LPA advised submitting a directors packet for the employee. A list of required documents to be submitted was provided to Jaime. LPA toured the outside area and observed that it is equipped with tables, planter boxes, a sandbox, grass area, and other play equipment. There is an off-limits shed that LPA advised securing the space beneath to prevent animals and other vermin from living underneath it. The farthest back area of the outdoor area has weeds currently and LPA advised maintaining or removing the weeds once they have died so it is not a fire hazard. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Applicant, Jaime Allen. LPA advised that a license for a child care center will be issued pending manager review and approval and submission of site director packet.
