Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On 6/14/24 at 2:15pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kayla Danielson and Nicolette Cunningham conducted an unannounced complaint inspection, and met with licensee Kristen Walworth. It was alleged staff used inappropriate form of discipline and staff left daycare children unattended. The Center Director and five staff (S1-S6) were interviewed on 01/03/2024 and they denied the allegations stating they redirect children and stated they have not left any infants unattended. Center Director and staff stated they do not use inappropriate forms of discipline and stated their discipline policy. Ten parents (P1-P10) were interviewed between 01/23/2024 and 04/22/2024 and stated that the facility always seems clean and orderly when they pick up their children and haven’t seen anything wrong with, they in which facility staff discipline children. During the complaint investigation visits, LPA also observed the facility staff were providing adequate care and supervision to children. Although the allegations that staff used inappropriate form of discipline and staff left daycare children unattended may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of the evidence to prove that the alleged violations occurred, and the findings are unsubstantiated. An exit interview was conducted, appeal rights provided, and notice of site visit posted.
