Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On 04/15/2026, Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Sydney Sims conducted a Plan of Correction visit in response to a violation cited during an annual inspection on the facility dated 03/10/2026 for glass being observed on the playground. The purpose of the visit was to ensure that the facility’s playground is free of glass. LPA Sims inspected the playground and observed turf has been installed on the playground over the dirt area where glass had been observed previously. The Licensee stated that staff will log temperature safety checks when the outside temperature reaches 90 degrees Fahrenheit before allowing the children to play outside to ensure the turf does not reach a temperature hot enough to cause harm to a child. Licensee stated that the facility installed a hose that reaches the play ground in order to spray the turf with water to cool it down on hot days. Licensee stated that the turf has a lot of shade through out the day. The Licensee plans to have the staff leaf blow the turf as needed or at least once a week to keep debris off the turf to maintain the turf in good condition and keep the turf free of debris. During the visit conducted today, LPA observed the facility is within compliance and no violations were cited. Exit interview conducted with Licensee Stephanie Horst , appeal rights provided, and notice of site visit posted
