Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

Four staff (S1 – S4) were interviewed on April 14, 2022. Staff stated that they have not seen any fleas in the last few months or bites on children. S2 stated there was fleas for a little while before carpet in the infant room was removed. She said pest control was coming at that time around once a week to rid the fleas. She said they communicated with parents about the issue and has not seen any since that time. Six parents (P1-P6) were interviewed on 4/14/22, and five of them stated they have had no issues with fleas or flea bites. One parent stated their child could not attend for a couple days while they were treating the issue. Another parent stated they have seen a couple flea bites on their child, however, it could not be determined if the bites happened at home or at the daycare. During the visit the facility was toured, child roster and pest control invoices were received and reviewed. LPM and LPA observed new flooring in the infant room, and did not visually see any pests. Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of the evidence to prove that the alleged violation occurred, and the findings are unsubstantiated. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the director, Lisa O’Neal.
