Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On 2/01/23 at 8:30am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Cunningham conducted an unannounced complaint inspection and met with Site Supervisor, Lisa O’Neal to deliver findings. It was alleged that staff are not following safe sleep practice; specifically, staff allowed an infant to sleep in a swing for an extended period of time. It was also alleged that staff behavior poses a risk to daycare children; specifically, Staff 1 yelled, “leave the baby in the swing and mind your business” and grabbed another staff’s hands. On 1/23/23 and 1/24/23, LPA Cunningham conducted interviews with three parents (Adult 3-5). On 2/1/23, LPA conducted interviews with three staff (Adult 6-8). Interviews did not corroborate the allegations. Adult 6, 7 and 8 stated that infants are not allowed to sleep in a swing and they sleep in a crib. LPA toured the nap area and observed cribs in good condition. Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of the evidence to prove that the alleged violations occurred, and the findings are unsubstantiated. Appeal rights were provided and an exit interview was conducted. The Notice of Site Visit must be posted for 30 days.
