What the inspector wrote

On 7/25/24 at 10:30am, an annual inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Nicolette Cunningham. This program operates 7:00am-5:30pm, Monday\342\200\223Friday. The facility was toured at 10:15am inside and outside and the floor and yard plan submitted by the licensee were verified. The facility representatives were supervising 24 children, and operating within the licensed capacity and ratio requirements. There are no pools or bodies of water on the premises. The property borders Shady Creek which is made inaccessible with a fence. Six children's records were reviewed at 10:45am. Three staff records were reviewed at 11:15am. The following deficiencies were cited: staff did not complete EMSA approved CPR/FA course (see LIC 809D) To improve the quality and value of the new inspection process, a survey may be sent to the email address provided. LPA referred facility representative to the Department website for lead: https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/water-testing-information LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with facility representative and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee [or facility representative] of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Facility representative was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the facility representative Toni Acord.
