What the inspector wrote

On 2/16/24 at 2:00pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), N. Cunningham made a case management inspection and met with Teresa Collier. The inspection was made in response to water lead testing samples not being submitted by January 30, 2023. The facility representative stated the facility does not use water from the tap. During today's inspection LPA observed children drinking bottled water. The following deficiency is being cited (see LIC 809D). Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the facility representative, Teresa Collier. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.

    (a)(1) A licensed child day care center, as defined in Section 1596.76, that is located in a building that was constructed before January 1, 2010, shall have its drinking water tested for lead contaminiation levels on or after January 1, 2020, but no later than January 1, 2023, and every five years after the date of the intial test. Based on record review, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above in one out of one lead water test was not completed by the due date which poses a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.
