Continue from LIC9099 CD stated biting doesn't happen in older classroom but does happen in the toddler classroom because they are teething, and CD thinks the toddler room supervision is great. CD further stated that she usually has an extra staff in that room leaving, 5-6 teachers with 20 children and that the teachers clean throughout the day, vacuum every day, and carpets are professionally cleaned once a quarter. Staff (S1-S6) stated supervision in the toddler classroom is good with S1-S5 stating they have a system to spread out to watch all the children. S1 stated that in the toddler room, children have free range to develop mentally and physically and S3 stated some incidents happen right next to a teacher, indicating that certain incidents cannot be prevented. Staff interviews (S1-S6) all stated carpets are vacuumed daily after children have been picked up. S2-S6 also stated they clean up after any mess that may have dropped on the floor. S1 and S3 stated carpets are professionally cleaned with S3, S5-S6 stating that they follow a daily cleaning check list. According to parent interviews, P1 and P3 didn’t think the supervision is great and P2 noted that newer staff in one room were not as observant or caring as the prior teachers. Although some parents acknowledged children do get injured, all parents interviewed had no concerns for their child(ren)s safety. P1-P3 stated floors are not the cleanest with P1 and P2 stating that carpets could use a good cleaning, but they have seen staff sweep and clean up food spills. Both P3 and P4 stated carpet looks fine. While at the facility, LPA observed the carpets did not have excessive stains or food stuck to carpet and observed Classroom Cleaning Checklist and receipts from a professional cleaning company showing the carpets were cleaned on a regular monthly and/or quarterly basis. Based on the information gathered during this investigation, although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove that the allegation occurred and therefore is determined to be unsubstantiated. There were no Title 22 deficiencies cited. This report was reviewed and discussed with Center Director, Erika Silva. Appeal rights were provided. Notice of Site Visit shall be posted for 30 days from today's visit. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
