Licensing Program Anaylst (LPA) Elpidia Hernandez Torres, conducted a case management inspection to follow up on a few incidents that occurred resulting in injuries. LPA made observations of the play areas and asked some questions of staff. LPA observed three teachers supervising 12 children in the out door play areas. LPA asked of the incidents that occurred and where they took place. Center Director stated one of the incidents happened with a large circle swing that was removed days after the incident to prevent another incident from occurring. Right after each incident staff evaluated the play areas to further examine what can be done in the play space to ensure similar incidents don't occur. Staff have also made it appoint to engage in conversation with children to better help them engage in safe play with one another. Center Director also stated staff are reminded to engage in safe play with children to keep them occupied while playing outdoors, as a form of providing active supervision. LPA observed the active supervision in practice when in the outdoor play areas. No deficiencies cited at this time in the areas observed, Notice of site visit shall be posted for 30 days.
