What does Type A vs Type B mean?
Type A. Serious citation. Imminent or substantial risk to children. The regulator requires corrective action immediately and may impose a civil penalty.
Type B. Lower-severity citation. Corrective action required, no imminent risk. The regulator monitors compliance on the next visit.

In addition to other required training, at least one director or teacher at each day care center, and each family day care home licensee who provides care, shall have at least 15 hours of health and safety training, and if applicable, at least one additional hour of training pursuant to clause (ii) of subparagraph (C) of paragraph (2).This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Based on LPA's observations and staff statement and staff record reviewed which confirmed the staff did not have Preventive Health and Safety certificate. This poses/posed a potential health, safety and/or personal rights risk to the children in care.

ARTICLE 2. Administration of Child Day Care Licensing
On or before March 30, 2018, a person who, on January 1, 2018, is a licensed child care provider, administrator, or employee of a licensed child day care facility shall complete the mandated reporter training provided pursuant to paragraphs (2) and (3) of subdivision (a), and shall complete renewal mandated reporter training every two years following the date on which he or she completed the initial mandated reporter training.This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Based on staff record reviewed & LS's statement which confirmed staff did not have a current AB 1207 Mandated Reporter Training certificate, and this poses a potential health, safety and/or personal rights risk to the children in care.

The licensee shall ensure that each child is accorded the following personal rights: To be free from corporal or unusual punishment, infliction of pain, humiliation, intimidation, ridicule, coercion, threat, mental abuse or other actions of a punitive nature including but not limited to: interference with functions of daily living including eating, sleeping or toileting; or withholding of shelter, clothing, medication or aids to physical functioning.This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Based on interviews provided by adults which confirmed they heard staff yelled at children in care, and this poses/posed a potential health, safety and/or personal rights risk to the children in care.
