What the inspector wrote

An unannounced annual/random inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Cindy Castro. LPA met with Jaime Meyer, Licensee (L1). There are currently two adults living in the home. L1 was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Childcare Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. During the inspection the home was toured inside and outside. The licensee (L1) and one staff were supervising 8 children and operating within the licensed capacity and ratio requirements. The facility\342\200\231s operating hours are 8:00AM to 5:00PM, Monday\342\200\223Friday. The floor plan submitted by the licensee was reviewed and verified. The off-limits areas of the home are kitchen, living room and two bedrooms, garage and side patio these were made inaccessible by means of door locking mechanisms and child safety gates. The home was at a comfortable indoor temperature. There were safe toys and equipment available for children. The backyard is utilized as the outdoor area and it is fully fenced. There were no pools or other bodies of water observed on premises. There is a working telephone in the home. Items which could pose a danger to children (detergents, cleaning compounds, and medications) were stored out of the reach of children. Licensee stated that there are no poisons in the home. There is a working smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and fire extinguisher rated at least 2-A, 10: BC that is in working condition. L1 conducted and document an emergency drill on 10/15/24. Licensee stated that there are no firearms or weapons in the home, none were observed during today\342\200\231s visit. LPA reviewed facility roster which was current. Five child files were reviewed and current. L1's mandated reporter training certification expires 01/29/26. L1\342\200\231s CPR/First Aid expires on 04/20/2026. (Continue to LIC 809-C) LPA discussed safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. During the exit interview, the Licensee, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS on 12/18/24.
