What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Glenn Ouye met with licensee Penny Bowers to conduct a prelicensing visit for the school age center. The application was received on June 3, 2022. The fire inspection was received on 7/21/22. The square footage is sufficient to support the capacity of 42 children. The licensee will request a waiver to utilize the outdoor activity space on a rotational bases with the preschool/toddler program. There are 3 toilets and 3 sinks along with two water fountains for the school age children. The building has two main rooms. The school age program will utilize part of the room and a toddler program which is part of the preschool license will use the other portion of the room. The two rooms will have physical separation so the different age groups do not commingle. There are functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. The pull station fire alarms are located at the front door and rear door. There are fouir fire extinguishers. This program's director will Aly Bowers who is the director of the preschool/toddler program at this location. The licensee was reminded that all adults 18 years and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA reviewed with licensee the LIC 311A, Records To Be Maintained At The Facility, for child’s records, personnel records, administrative records, and documents to be posted. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee, Penny Bowers. The facility is approved for licensure effective July 22, 2022.
