Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

A case management visit was conducted by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Y. Yang at the facility’s request to inspect and approve a newly constructed play structure located in the facility’s main play yard. The previous play structure in that location had been removed. During the inspection, the LPA observed that the manufacturer’s label indicated the play structure is designed for children ages two to five years. The play structure is a commercial-grade Little Tikes brand structure consisting of an elevated platform with an attached double slide, stairs, and a climbing component. In addition, a tensile shade canopy is installed above the play structure. The structure is constructed of molded plastic components, powder-coated steel posts and railings, and rubber-coated aluminum decking. The existing poured-in-place rubber safety surface beneath the structure serves as the required cushioning material. No other changes to the facility’s physical plant or the footprint of the outdoor play area were observed as of today’s date. No additional changes shall be made without prior notification to and approval from the Licensing Agency and the local building division. The play structure located in the main play yard, along with the fall-cushioning material, was inspected and approved for use effective today’s date. No bodies of water were observed on the premises during today’s inspection visit. This report was read and reviewed with the Center Director, Nicole Del Calvo. There were no Title 22 violations cited during today's case management visit. The Notice of Site Visit shall be posted for 30 days.
