Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Glenn Ouye met with Program Director Liz Corbett to address the schools need to increase the capacity. LPA Ouye measured the three classrooms and the outdoor play activity area. The combined square footage of the three classrooms was measured at 2,611.15 square feet. The two outdoor activity area's square footage was measured at 11,682 square feet. There are six sinks and three toilets. LPA Ouye and Ms. Corbett discussed that the maximum capacity for her program would be 45 children. Her plan is to have the all day preschool session and an afternoon program to support children who are currently attending TK and Kindergarten at Parkside Elementary School. To increase the capacity, Ms. Corbett would need to submit an application (LIC200A, a sketch of the new outdoor activity area and a capacity increase fee of $25. The department will send a request to the local fire department to perform a fire inspection to increase the capacity.
