What the inspector wrote

An unannounced case management visit to the facility was made by Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Y. Yang and J. Patel in response to an Unusual Incident Report (UIR) received on 10/02/25 involving one child being bit by another child while at the facility. During today\342\200\231s visit, the LPAs met with the licensee, Shannon Kerston to discuss the incident and obtain additional details. The licensee reported that on 10/01/25, child C1 was bit on the cheek, shoulder, and nose by child C2 while at the facility. The licensee stated that this incident occurred in the main daycare room of the facility. The licensee stated that she was in the same area (approximately three feet away) as the children but was assisting another child. The licensee stated that the bites were unprovoked and there were no antecedents.The licensee stated that she cleaned the bite areas with soap and water and the authorized representatives of both children were notified. The licensee stated that there were five children present at the facility at the time of the incident. During today's case management visit, the LPAs reviewed with the licensee the facility's child supervision policies. The licensee stated that medical attention was not necessary and resources were provided to the child's authorized representatives regarding how to address biting in infants/toddlers. This incident was reported to CCLD and the child\342\200\231s authorized representatives as required per regulations. Based on available information, it has been determined that there was no evidence of violations of regulations that occurred that lead to the bite incident. This report was read and reviewed with the licensee, Shannon Kerston. There were no Title 22 violations cited during today's case management visit. The Notice of Site Visit shall be posted for 30 days.
