What the inspector wrote

A prelicensing inspection was conducted today by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), J. Snow. LPA met with facility representative Melissa Jostedt. Applicant is requesting to be licensed for # Capacity 60 School age children, age 5-12 years in classrooms #10 & sometimes in room#3 & the multi purpose room. Hours of operation will be Monday -Friday, 12:30pm to 6pm, follow school holidays & a full day program in the summers. The facility serves children enrolled at Two Rock Elementary & is located on school grounds. The indoor and outdoor activity spaces were toured, and the facility sketch was verified. The following areas will be off limits to children: the kitchen. These areas have been made inaccessible by means of locked doors. There is a full industrial kitchen to store/prepare meals. There are no naps, rest will be available for children when needed. The isolation area for sick children will be located in the office. The outdoor play area is fully fenced. There is a play structure with slide for children to play on and adequate cushioning underneath. There is no pool, spa, pond, fountain, or any other body of water on the premises. The poisons are locked in janitors closet & cabinets. There is safe and age-appropriate furniture, toys, and play equipment available for children. Fire clearance approved on March 7, 2025. continued on 809c A capacity worksheet was completed during the visit. The inside, room square footage measured 4,395 square feet. Children have access to at least 9 toilets & sinks. The outside, yard square footage measured 10,000 square feet. Based on above, sufficient for the requested capacity. The following items need to be completed prior to the granting the license: 1. Director; proof ECE admin class for Emily Black 2. Board resolution to name director for Emily Black 3. Director, proof of Health and safety class for Emily Black 4. LIC 9108 for Emily & Melissa 5. Yard waiver approval 6. Bathroom waiver approval Criminal Record Clearance - Child Care Centers: Melissa Jostedt was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. APPLICANT KNOWS PROSPECTIVE CLIENTS WILL NEED IMS: This facility plans to provide Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. For IMS information, see PIN 22-02-CCP.
