What the inspector wrote

A prelicensing inspection was conducted today, on September 25, 2024 at 8:30am by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Snow. LPA met with applicant/licensee/facility representative Kristina Sisseck. Kristina Sisseck is requesting a license for 19 infants age 0-24 months & 24 preschool age 2-5 years for a total capacity of 43 children. The facility will operate Monday-Friday, 7:30am to 5:30pm. The facility has 2 rooms, 2 bathrooms & 2 yards for children and an adult bathroom. The facility is located on a El Colegio preschool campus run by the school district for medically fragile children (CCL exempt). The indoor and outdoor activity spaces were toured, and the facility sketch was verified. The meals will be prepared at the El Colegio preschool at the same address. The infant room has a nap area set up with 5 cribs & additional cots. The changing tables are located in the infant bathrooms, next to a sink. There are enough cots for the full capacity of preschool and infant children. There is no pool, spa, pond, fountain, or any other body of water on the premises The poisons are locked in a janitor\342\200\231s closet. There is safe and age-appropriate furniture, toys, and play equipment available for children. continued on next page A capacity worksheet was completed during the visit. The preschool children will be in room #5 which measured 946 square feet with 2 toilets and 2 sinks. The infant room # 6 which measured 680 square feet with 2 toilets, and 2 sinks. Based on the above, there is enough for the requested capacity. A capacity worksheet was completed during the visit. The outdoor play areas are fully fenced & the shade is provided by an awning. The climbing structure for Preschool is rated age 2-5 years and there is rubber ground cover to cushion falls. The outdoor, preschool yard is 3,811 square feet which is enough for the requested capacity. There is no climbing structure in the infant yard. There are no climbing structures. The shade structure is provided with a pop-up. The infant yard measures 918 square feet which is not enough for the requested capacity of infants so a waiver will be required. Kristina Sisseck was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. continued on next page Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. LPA reviewed with Kristina Sisseck the LIC 311A, Records to Be Maintained At The Facility, for child\342\200\231s records, personnel records, administrative records, and documents to be posted. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Kristina Sisseck and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at: https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep , as an additional resource. LPA also informed Kristina Sisseck of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at: https://www.cpsc.gov/ , and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Kristina Sisseck was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org site, a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. continued on next page Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Kristina Sisseck. Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) regularly sends information to licensed facilities, providers, and stakeholders by way of Provider Information Notices (PIN), Program Quarterly Update Newsletters and other important information communication platforms.
