What the inspector wrote

A change of capacity - case management inspection was made today by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Amy Strother. The licensee, Angella Salhuana Velasquez (L1), is requesting a capacity of 14 children. During today's inspection, L1 and one assistant were supervising 5 children and operating within the licensed capacity and ratio requirements. The Santa Rosa Fire Department inspected the home and granted a fire clearance on 11/06/2025. The licensee has at least one year of experience operating a small Family Child Care Home. The licensee provided control of property. Services will be available 07:30am - 05:30pm, Monday - Friday. The residence is a 2 bedroom/1 bathroom, single story home. The licensee understands that 24hr consecutive care is prohibited. The licensee stated she clearly understands the maximum number of children for whom care can be provided and the limitations on the number of infants (birth to age 2) that may be cared for and when two of the children in care must be school aged, and when an assistant provider must be present. LPA provided a \342\200\234Capacity Regulations\342\200\235 handout with visual images of the capacity for Large Family Child Care Homes to L1. There are currently two adults living in the home. The licensee was advised that all adults residing or working at the facility must have a criminal background clearance on file with CCLD. The licensee is aware of the immediate $100 per day civil penalty for adults working or residing in the home without a criminal record clearance. The facility was toured inside and outside. The floor plans have been verified. The children will have access to the living room, den, kitchen, office area next to kitchen, bathroom and pass through the laundry room to access the back yard. The two bedrooms are off-limits, made inaccessible by child safety door knob covers or a child safety gate. Continue on LIC809-C The home appears to be clean and orderly at this time and will remain so during child care hours. There is a working telephone in the home (licensee's cell phone). The sharp knives, cleaning supplies, medicines, will be stored out of the reach of children. The license stated there are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. Applicant stated the key locked garage is used to store any poisons. First Aid supplies are maintained at the facility. The children in care have access to age appropriate toys and equipment. There is a functional smoke/carbon monoxide detector and a charged fire extinguisher in the facility. The fire pull station is located next to the front door of the home. L1\342\200\231s Pediatric CPR and Pediatric First Aid certificate expires 03/2026. L1\342\200\231s Mandated Reporter Training expires 05/2026.
