What the inspector wrote

On 07/05/2024, Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Cynthia Brannon and Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Aurelio Mendoza conducted an uannounced case management inspection and met with Center Supervisor Yasmin Gallegos. LPA Mendoza and LPM Brannon explained the reason of the inspection and a tour of the center was conducted both inside and outside. The center is located at address, CCCDS-Patterson Child Development Center, 456 Eureka, Patterson, CA 95363. The purpose of today\342\200\231s case management inspection was to support the facility with the removal of the Toddler Program. This facility provides full-time childcare from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday. This facility has five classrooms. Currently classroom #6A is the toddler classroom. The other four classrooms #2, #3, #4A, and #5 are preschool classrooms. Licensee would like to remove their toddler option from the preschool license and have a total of five preschool classrooms. Room measurements were taken and reviewed with Center Supervisor Yasmin Gallegos. The total inside preschool area measured to an approximate 3,968 square feet which will accommodate 113 preschool children, at a time. There is adequate storage space available for children's belongings in the classroom. Toys and equipment appear to be age appropriate. There is a total of nine toilets, one urinal and eight sinks/hand washing fixtures. The approximate outside square footage for the preschool area is 8,541 square feet. The toddler option playground will be utilized by the preschool program when changes have been processed. Based upon the square footage for the inside and outside requirements, facility has adequate square footage for a capacity of 113 preschool children. The following documentation is required to proceed with the removal of the Toddler Program: 1) Updated facility application to reflect the preschool capacity of 113. 2) Board resolution reflecting capacity change. 3) Change in capacity fee of $25.00. 4) Request for Fire Clearance Form. The items above are required to move forward with the licensee\342\200\231s request to remove the toddler option from the license. Licensee has already provided an updated facility sketch, Emergency Disaster Plan, Personnel Report, and Administration Organization Form. This facility does provide care to infants. LPM Brannon and LPA Mendoza discussed the safe sleep regulations with Center Supervisor Yasmin Gallegos and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPM Brannon and LPA Mendoza also informed Center Supervisor Yasmin Gallegos, of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Center Supervisor Yasmin Gallegos. A copy of this report is to remain in the facility for public review.
