What the inspector wrote

On 2/23/2022, Licensing Program Analysts (LPA), Roman Iglesias, conducted a Case Management inspection due to an observation made on this day (2/23/2022), while conducting an indoor/outdoor tour of the facility. LPA met with Licensee, Melissa Pershall, and explained the purpose of the inspection. During the indoor/outdoor facility tour, LPA noticed the thermostat temperature in the "Infant Room" was set at 64 degrees Fahrenheit and the heater was turned off. The temperature in the "Preschool Room" was 67 degrees Fahrenheit; however, the thermostat was set at 66 degrees Fahrenheit. Upon bringing it up to Ms. Pershall's attention, she rectified the matter and set the thermostat at 68 degrees Fahrenheit in both rooms, as stated by regulation 101239(a)(1)/ fixtures, furniture, equipment and supplies. Per California Code of Regulations Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1, no deficiency is cited today. Notice of Site Inspection to be posted for 30 days.

Also, during the interview Ms. Pershall used language that can be offensive to describe an employee. This is a potential personal rights, health and safety risk to children in care.
