What the inspector wrote

On 04/22/24, A case management inspection was conducted today by Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Jose Penate and Chris Burnias. LPAs met with Regional Supervisor (RS), Maria Reyes to discuss incident which occurred on 03/27/24. A complete file review was conducted prior to visit. LPA toured facility inside and outside. A census was taken. On today\342\200\231s visit LPAs discussed with RS and advised her of the purpose of the inspection. A series of questions were asked regarding the incident, and they were discussed with RS. LPAs gathered recent staff training on Title 22 regulations and more specifically Personal Rights to children in care. Currently the facility is undergoing their own investigation of the incident. During inspection LPAs observed both classrooms to be fully operational and staffing is currently being met to supervise children in care. LPAs gathered documentation of recent staff meeting that was conducted by Education Manager, Lorena Davis. Current staff at the facility were all in attendance of the meeting. During inspection LPAs observed Bees at the facility. LPAs discussed with RS about the issue, and she stated that she had Pest Control come to facility and correct the issue. Unfortunately, the issue could not be resolved by the Pest Control company due to the area that the facility is located on, and that the Bee\342\200\231s are just doing their job is what was told to RS. RS has advised the staff to take the children outdoors for a small amount of time but if the bees gather near or around the children to immediately return to the classroom. During inspection LPA Penate also observed that the Director of the facility was not present, during interview it was discussed that Director, Ramona Arevalo has recently (7 Days) retired. LPA Penate spoke to Administrator, Alex Elliot via phone and she stated that currently Director hasn\342\200\231t given her official day of retirement, due to not having an official day she hasn\342\200\231t posted or listed the position to be filled. Administrator stated that she will keep LPA Penate advised of all steps or posting for the fulfillment of the position. Administrator stated that she will ensure to have a staff in the role of Director in the time being for any issues or assistance that staff and parents may need. Exit interview conducted with the Director, Maria Reyes. Per California Code of Regulations Title 22, Division 12, no deficiency cited during today's visit. LIC 9213 NOTICE OF SITE VISIT FORM IS REQUIRED TO BE POSTED FOR 30 DAYS.
