What Happened
An unannounced annual inspection found the home set up for care with off-limit rooms secured and core safety equipment in working order. The licensee arrived shortly after the visit began, and the analyst reviewed child and staff records, noting a few documentation items that needed attention.
Observations
- Kitchen, laundry room, bathroom, bedrooms, and living room were used for care, while other rooms were blocked off with baby gates and doorknob covers.
- Working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector were observed, along with adequate heating and ventilation.
- A sample of children's files was complete with required emergency information.
- Licensee's mandated reporter training certification was expired and pediatric CPR/First Aid was set to expire on 2022-07-23.
