What the inspector wrote

On January 13 th , 2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Rosie Breault conducted an announced Case Management inspection at the abovementioned facility. The licensee applied to increase capacity of the toddler age group (18 months \342\200\223 36 months) to 24 children, and license room #105. Preschool capacity will remain at 128 children ages 3 \342\200\223 kindergarten. The facility operates Monday \342\200\223 Friday 7am \342\200\223 6pm. Toddler program operates 9am-1pm. At the time of the inspection, there were 125 children present. LPA met with director Alex Link and together toured the facility. Facility utilized written logs for the purposes of signing in and out, and LPA observed required postings in a prominent location. The facility is located on the grounds of Encounter Church, encompassing several buildings. The facility utilizes buildings #100 and #200. Building #100 currently provides care for toddlers in room #108, houses room #105, and LPA measured pertinent rooms. LPA observed 2 toilets and 2 sinks available for toddler use, changing table with sink nearby, and filter water is supplied. LPA observed classrooms to contain age-appropriate toys and equipment, ample ventilation. Carbon monoxide tested and functioning at the time of the inspection. LPA observed a first aid kit available and at the time of the inspection, toxins and poisons were rendered inaccessible to children. Fire extinguisher was last serviced on 10/25/2024. Per licensee, no firearms or ammunition are present on property. Fire clearance was approved by Ventura County Fire Department on 12/11/2024. CONTINUED ON LIC809C The outdoor play area consists of age-appropriate toys and equipment, wood chips under play structures, and shade. Play yard is gated and separated from preschool program to prevent co-mingling of age groups. Per director,no bodies of water are present on the property. The total indoor toddler classrooms, including room #105, measure 1665.46sq. ft. which will accommodate licensee\342\200\231s request for 24 toddlers. The total outdoor toddler play yard measures 6169.98 square feet which will accommodate licensee\342\200\231s request for 24 toddlers. Applicant was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. The licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org site, a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. No citations were issued during inspection. A Notice of Site Visit was given to the director and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. License pending approval.
