What the inspector wrote

On July 31, 2025 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Giovani Gonzalez conducted an unannounced Required - 3 Year inspection at the above-mentioned Child Care Care Center (CCC). LPA met with Director Autumn McGuire and informed them the purpose of the inspection. At the time of the inspection 43 children were present. LPA in the company of the Director toured the interior an exterior of the CCC. LPA observed required postings to be located at the entrance of the CCC LPA notes 4 classrooms are used by the preschool program and 1 is used for toddler option. LPA observed the preschool and toddler classrooms to have age appropriate toys and equipment that are in good condition. LPA observed the classrooms to be clean and free of hazards. LPA observed bathrooms to be located in the classrooms which were observed to be in working order. LPA observed storage areas in the class rooms which were secured with child proof locks or were free of hazards. LPA observed cleaning products to be stored on an elevated surface beyond the reach of children in care. LPA observed the classrooms to have sufficient napping equipment for children in care. LPA observed children to have individual cubbies. LPA notes the CCC does not provide food for the children and that all food is brought from home. LPA observed the outdoor area to be completely enclosed. LPA observed a storage area to be used for children's equipment. LPA observed a play house as well with equipment that is is in good condition. LPA observed the play area to have play structures using a rubber footing for the fall zones. LPA observed play structures to be in good condition. LPA observed children to bring out their water bottles and that children have access to a water fountain outside as well. LPA observed the exit way to be secured. CONTINUED PAGE 2 A samplings of children's files were conducted. LPAs observed all children's files to be current and complete. LPA reviewed files for the staff present which were found to be complete . LPA observed 2 staff in the preschool to have expired Mandated Reporter training certificates 1 Type B deficiency is being issued as a result. LPA notes at least 1 staff has a CPR/First Aid certificate (expires 1/2026). LPA observed the sign in to be filled out electronically. The last emergency drill was conducted on 6/12/25. Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP . Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Exit interview was conducted with Director Autumn McGuire and notice of site visit was given.
