What the inspector wrote

On May 16, 2025, at 9:40 AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Cynthia Alvarez & Veronica Diaz conducted a Required Annual inspection. LPA met with director Mandy Izaguirre and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA conducted a tour of the facility inside and out. There were 35 children and ten staff in care at the time of the inspection. The center operates from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM and is open Monday thru Frida y. The center has 2 full day classroom and 1 half day classroom with an AM classroom and a PM classroom. Licensing required documents were posted prominently on the wall in the classrooms. The facility utilizes three classrooms. Bathrooms were observed to be clean and free of toxins. There is water inside and outside for the children to have access too. The outdoor playground is completely enclosed by a fence. The playground has an ample amount of shade available and age-appropriate toys/equipment. LPAs did not observe any toxins/hazardous items accessible to children. The classroom has age-appropriate toys and furniture available for children. There is a functioning carbon monoxide detector in each classroom, that meets statutory requirement. The center completed their last fire drill on 3/15/25 .First Aid kit were observed throughout the facility. LPAs observed the posted lunch menu. The center provides breakfast snack and lunch for the children, the center is a peanut free facility. The center uses electronic written sign in sheet HUBBE program. The center communicates with parents via newsletters, phone calls/ text messages and via the community board posted outside which makes it visible to parents when they pick up/ drop off childre n . Cont. on 809C A sampling of children and staff records were reviewed and found current. At least one staff present has current Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificates that expire on 1/20/26. Teachers present have current AB 1207 Mandated Reporter Training certificates. LPAs verified SB792 Child Care Adult Immunization and Tuberculosis requirements. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPAs reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. All records were found to have the appropriate documents. For childcare center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1-CCP). LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP.
