What the inspector wrote

On 03/04/2026 at 12:20 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Veronica Martinez (Diaz) and Cynthia Alvarez conducted an unannounced Required \342\200\223 3 Year inspection. LPAs met with Site Supervisor Teresa Martinez and advised her of the purpose of the inspection. The Site Supervisor provided LPAs with a tour of the facility, both inside and outside. There were 30 children in care at the time of the inspection along with 9 staff. The center operates Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 5:30 PM. LPAs observed the required licensing documents posted on the wall at the entrance of the center. Each classroom contained age appropriate toys and furniture that were readily accessible to the children in care. LPAs observed sufficient toilets and sinks available for children\342\200\231s use. No hazards or toxic items were observed to be accessible to children. First aid kits were observed in each classroom along with first aid backpacks. Last disaster drill was conducted on 2/2/26. The facility utilizes an application called HUB for parent/guardian sign-in and sign-out. The facility provides breakfast, lunch, and one snack daily. LPAs observed menus posted in each classroom, in the kitchen, and at the parent/guardian sign-in/sign-out area located at the entrance of the facility. The outdoor playground is shaded and provides sufficient space for children to play. LPAs observed age-appropriate toys and play structures available for children\342\200\231s use. The facility shares the preschool playground with another licensed facility and utilizes staggered schedules. The Site Supervisor stated that children from the two facilities do not commingle. A sampling of 5 children and 8 staff records were reviewed. LPAs observed children and staff files to be complete and current. Staff mandated reporter certification are all current. LPA verified SB792 Child Care Adult Immunization and Tuberculosis requirements. Continued on 809-C Site supervisor was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1597.16. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1-CCP.). LPAs verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives (Interim Licensing Standards) outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP. LPAs referred site supervisor to the Department website for lead: Lead Toxicity Prevention and Water Testing Information ( https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/water-testing-information ) \342\200\242 CCC COMPLETED TESTING AND NO LEAD EXCEEDANCES This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPAs reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP.
