On January 22, 2026 10:20 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Laura Carone made an unannounced visit to conduct an Annual/Random Inspection. LPA met with licensee, Maria Alcaraz and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA and Licensee toured the interior and exterior of the home. Licensee was caring for 4 children at the time of the inspection. The home is a 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom, 1-story home. The licensee uses the living room, second living room, kitchen, hall bathroom and front/backyard for childcare. Licensee has a secured fence in the yards. The 4-bedrooms, master bathroom, and garage are off limits and are inaccessible to children in care. During the tour in the back yard, LPA observed plastic containers containing water. LPA advised licensee to empty the containers before the children go into the yard. LPA observed the home to be orderly. LPA observed age-appropriate toys, teaching materials, and furnishings available for children in care in good condition. Cleaning compounds are stored in the on the kitchen counter. LPA observed a child safety gate at the entrance of the kitchen. The bathroom to be used for children in care was observed to be clean . LPA observed a can of Glade on top of the toilet lid. LPA advised licensee to remove the toxin. Licensee moved the can to a high cabinet. A regulation 2A10BC fire extinguisher was observed in the laundry room with a service date of 05/09/2025. Licensee is reminded to service or purchase the fire extinguisher yearly. LPA observed a carbon monoxide and smoke alarm detector mounted in the hallway. Licensee states that there are no firearms and ammunition in the home. Licensee's Pediatric Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/First Aid certificate is valid until 02/10/2027. AB 1207 Mandated Reporter Training certificate was not available. Licensee stated that she has completed the CONTINUED ON LIC809-C https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. During the exit interview, the licensee, Maria Alcaraz, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS. No deficiencies cited. Technical advisories were issued. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to maintain posting as required will result in a $100.00 civil penalty. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee, Maria Alcaraz. course but was not able to locate it. Licensee last completed a fire drill on 11/19/2025. All required forms including Notification of Parent's Rights are prominently posted for parent's or authorized representatives to view. A roster of children in care was observed. Licensee added the infant that started care today. A sampling of child records was reviewed, and LPA observed Identification and Emergency Notification forms (LIC 700). C2 is missing immunization record. Licensee informed LPA that the parent will be bring the record today. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
