What the inspector wrote

On December 13, 2022 at 11:45 AM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Susana Martinez conducted an unannounced Required- 1-year annual inspection. LPA met with site supervisor Arianna Hernandez and advised the reason of the inspection. Together LPA and supervisor toured the facility inside and outside. At the time of the inspection there were 0 children present and 5 staff. The center operates Mon-Fri from 2 PM- 6 PM. The center uses 1 room for children in care. LPA observed carbon monoxide detectors located inside the room located outside the bathroom, LPA tested the detector and found it to be in working condition. Verification of disaster and fire drills was provided to LPA, the last drill was conducted 10/20/22. Required posting documents were observed to be posted inside the room including the daily activity schedule and monthly menu. During the tour LPA did not observe any hazardous/toxic items. The outdoor playground is shaded and has an ample amount of space for children to play. LPA observed the playground has age-appropriate toys and structures available for children to use. No bodies of water were observed at the time of inspection. LPA conducted personnel and children record review. LPA reviewed 5 children\342\200\231s files which were all complete and current. The staff records were also found to be complete and current. LPA observed at least one staff member to be CPR/1 st Aid certified with a certification valid through 4/15/23. Staff mandated reporter certification are all current. LPA verified SB792 Child Care Adult Immunization and Tuberculosis requirements. Continued on 809-C This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. Supervisor was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. No deficiencies were cited. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. Exit interview conducted, appeal rights were given, and report was reviewed with site supervisor Arianna Hernandez.
