What the inspector wrote

On March 30, 2023 at 10 AM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Susana Martinez conducted an unannounced case management- licensee initiated inspection. LPA met with site director Lisa Loessberg and advised her of the purpose for the inspection. Together with the director LPA toured the facility. At the time of inspection there were 22 children and 6 staff members present. During the tour LPA did not observe any hazardous/toxic items. On February 1st, 2023 LPA Martinez conducted an unannounced case management-other inspection for the purpose of increasing the infant capacity, during that inspection it was discovered that the outdoor infant playground could only accommodate 12 infants at a time. The center submitted a waiver request to allow the infants to use the outdoor activity space on a staggered schedule. The waiver request has been granted and is valid for the term of the license and is subject to review at the discretion of the licensing agency. The waiver was granted under the following conditions: 1. The center shall abide by the following schedule for outdoor activity space at all times unless a revised schedule is approved by the Department: - Infant Group 1: Mon-Fri 9 am- 9:45 am and 3 pm- 3:30 pm - Infant Group 2: Mon- Fri 9:45 am- 10:30 am and 3:30 pm- 4 pm - Infant Group 3: Mon- Fri 10:30 am- 11:15 am and 4 pm- 4:30 pm. 2. Appropriate teacher-child ratio shall always be maintained. 3. Any changes to the existing conditions must be reported to the licensing agency immediately at (805) 562-0400. 4. Number of children at the playground at any time during hours of operation shall not exceed 12 children. 5. Facility must always maintain the terms of this waiver. Failure to comply with the conditions may result in the termination of the waiver. The waiver must be posted with your license. Continued on 809-C A fire clearance was granted by the Ventura County Fire Department on 1/26/2023. Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. The center meets Title 22 Division 12 requirements. License will be effective today, 3/30/2023 for total capacity of 36 infant children. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with director Lisa Lossberg.
